Dear Teachers,
As we gear up for the upcoming school year, we want to share some valuable tools and practices to enhance your teaching experience and ensure a seamless start. Here are some essential considerations as you prepare your classes:
Sync Final Grades Only - If all your grading is done in eKadence, and all you need from syncing is the final grade, we encourage you to try out the "Sync Final Grades Only" mode. By syncing only each student's cumulative grade to your SIS, this greatly reduces the time needed to sync between systems, especially during times of high traffic that are typically seen toward grading deadlines. Simply turn on the Final Grade Sync toggle shortly after you are done syncing your gradebooks.
Import Modules - In the Modules of a new class, hover over the "+ Course Material" menu and select the "Import from Another Class" option. This new UI reduces the effort in hunting down your previous classes.
Other Class Setup:
Crosslisting Classes - If you have multiple classes during the same period and would like to maintain one roster, consider crosslisting by contacting us at support@ekadence.com.
Linking Sections - If you have multiple classes of the same subject, consider linking your classes.
Start Pages - Customize the first page students and teachers see when opening a class by using the Start Pages setting under Custom Tabs.
New Activity Features:
Generate with AI - Utilize AI to generate questions on the fly, such as for makeup exams and extra credit. We invite you to try it out and share your feedback with us.
Import Google Forms - Import questions from your Google Forms into your eKadence assignments and assessments.
GPTZero - You can now check student submissions for possible use of AI with GPTZero. Enable it in your Class Setup under Features, then click on the GPTZero button in the Quick Grader.
Clear Submissions - When unsubmitting a student's work, you can now clear their submission to give them a fresh start.
ePortfolio Updates:
Slideshow View - View your ePortfolio as a slideshow by clicking on "Play as Slideshow" in the actions menu in the top right.
Adding Content Blocks - Easily add new content blocks by clicking on the available white space inside your ePortfolio.
Templates - If you would like to have a template ePortfolio for your students to build from please contact us at support@ekadence.com, and we will assist you in sharing your ePortfolio.
