Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day and Black History Month. Here is a list of our updates:

Teacher Experience


Classroom

  • Assignments/Assessments 
    • You can now hide the "Additional comments/details" section from student's submissions by activating the 'Hide "Additional comments/details" box' (found under Advanced Settings of the activity)
  • Discussions 
    • The Submission Cutoff Time can now be the same day as the Due Date
    • Making a post will now automatically reload the discussion, to help bring attention to any new posts from others
  • Activities 
    • Copying a Group activity into the same class will keep the same assigned groups from the original activity
    • New "Markup Image" question type: Allows students to draw and write on an image

  • Modules 
    • When a teacher links a previous grading term (to have the content appear in Modules), the Previous grading term section will now display the name of that grading term, for clarity (e.g., "21-22 Fall")

  • Quick Grader 
    • Speed improvements for the grading experience, by automatically "pre-loading" the next student's submission
  • Gradebook
    • Teachers can now make copies of Grade-Only Activities
    • The Gradebook will now automatically display all the "Inactive students", whenever there are no active students (for example: after the grading term has ended)
    • Reward active Badges to students from the Gradebook. When one or more Badges have been activated for the class, the teacher can access this area by making the "View by: Awards" selection at the top of the Gradebook: 


  • Students 
    • Using the "Invite by email" option will skip students who are already enrolled
    • Creating groups in a Group Configuration will maintain the order of creation
    • Using the "Assign students to random groups" button will keep the user's group names
  • Student Profile 
    • You can now view a list of all ePortfolios of the selected student
    • Student's Profile Photo is not shown if none was uploaded
  • Tools 
    • Teachers can now upload Signature images for Certificates of Completion


  • Setup Class 
    • SIS Sync > Discrepancy Checker
      • Using the Check Data action is now handled in a separate dialog window
      • Reordered the "Student Grades" sections
      • Activities are now grouped together by their sync status


Miscellaneous

  • Dashboard 
    • New "Birthdays Today" widget, to see which of your students have birthdays today. (This widget can be disabled from the Dashboard settings > "Dashboard Widgets" menu)

  • ePortfolios 
    • Google Docs and Slides are now presented as PDFs
    • Teachers can now view their student's ePortfolios regardless of publish status
    • You can now see the file size of your ePortfolios

  • General
    • Various improvements and optimizations for mobile devices and small screens!

Student Experience

Parent Experience


  • Improved parent registration sign-up flow, for parents with existing user accounts
  • When viewing your student's classwork, the page will more clearly display the name of the class, and name and email address of the teacher

  • Parents can now see their student's ePortfolios:

  • "My Learning" tab
    • For parent users with "My Learning" access, this page features a new My Awards section, to view badges or certificates that you have been awarded:
