Hello eKadence users,

We here at eKadence hope everyone is having a wonderful start of their summer. It has been a little while since our last newsletter so here is a list of our latest updates since last time:

Teacher Experience

• Class - Clicking on teacher name at the top right of a page will show list of co-teachers, if applicable
  
• Homepage - Moved all student alerts to its own page
  
• Activities - Set banner option has been moved to the Insert Content menu
  
• Activities - Using the set banner image option will scroll to the top to view the newly added banner
• Activities - Submission page now shows the First Opened Date
  
• Activities - The number of submissions will count any inactive students that have made submissions
• Assignment/Assessment/Discussion/Page - New UI changes for activities. A sidebar will now appear upon creation with select settings next to the content editor for easy and fast activity creation.
  
• Assignments - Add Student Review settings like in Assessments
  
• Discussions - User's sorting and grid/thread view preference will persist
• Pages - Due Date has been changed to Available Until
• Modules - Clicking on a module's name will open the edit menu
• Modules - Using the export feature will maintain the order of the original class
• Modules - Using the export feature no longer exports conference module items
• Modules - For Pages change the progress bar label to say completed instead of submissions
  
• Modules - The progress bar now links to the submissions page of the activity
• Modules - Warning message for when a module folder is unpublished but the contents are published
  
• Conferences - Update time duration setting UI
  
• Students - Group Configurations can now be printed and exported to an excel spreadsheet
  
• Gradebook - Removed assignment name popup and “...” button, now the action menu is available on hover
  
• Gradebook - Auto-refresh so that when making edits in a different tab those edits will be reflected in the already open gradebook tab
• Gradebook - Scores Report option has been added to the activity menu
  
• Gradebook - Allow saving scores for inactive students
• Gradebook - Student’s entire names are shown without being truncated 
• Gradebook - Student tags are now right aligned
• Gradebook - Teachers are now able to add negative scores
• Gradebook - Import Scores will now ignore invalid Student IDs
• Gradebook - UI improvement to the Filter By Activity Name search box 
• Gradebook - Standardized font and size of different score types
• Gradebook - Using Assign Mass Grades to apply Missing, Excused, or Late flags will skip students that have existing scores or flags
• Gradebook - Data entry speed improvements
• Gradebook - ‘Mark grading not completed’ will return grades to their previous state
• Gradebook - New filter UI
  
• Gradebook - Enabling “Do not count this assignment towards final grade” will excuse all students from the assignment in the synced gradebook
• Students - Added self-enroll option
  
• Students - Manually adding students will automatically refresh the page
• Setup Class - Update UI to clear up which settings are for the class versus individual periods for linked sections
• Setup Class - Self-Paced Learning toggle setting under General Information
• Setup Class - Setting the # of lowest scores to drop setting in grading categories will auto recalculate student grades
• Setup Class - New tooltip in Custom Tabs to explain the Teacher Only option for Gradebook
  
• Setup Class - New Class ePortfolios, teachers can now automatically add activities like assignments to students’ class specific ePortfolios
  
• Login - Sign in with Google will open in same window instead of opening pop-up
• View All Classes - Update UI to show classes in a singular table
  
• View all Classes - Sorting is now available
• View All Classes - Export your list of classes to a CSV or Excel file
• View All Classes - Grading terms are now shown in descending order
• Dashboard - Minor UI changes to class cards
• ePortfolio - Cover image display update
• ePortfolio - Adding a new content block will add a block the same size as the last block
• ePortfolio - Improve user search for recipients at the same school sites when sharing
• ePortfolio - Shared with me timestamp UI update
• ePortfolio - When sharing, the Done button has been changed to Share
• ePortfolio - Shared with me section now has folders
• ePortfolio - Avatars will default to our placeholder image
• ePortfolio - View comment icon that is visible to both commetor, editor, and owner
  
• ePortfolio - Content blocks can now be copied from one ePortfolio to another
  
• Update to display name logic

Student Experience

• Login - Sign in with Google will open in same window instead of opening pop-up
• Announcements - Students are now notified of pinned announcements when joining a class late
• View All Classes - Update UI to show classes in a singular table
  
• View all Classes - Classes with the same Site/Term will stay grouped when users change the sorting of a column
• View All Classes - Update UI to distinguish active and inactive classes
• View All Classes - Export your list of classes to a CSV or Excel file
• View All Classes - Grading terms are now shown in descending order
• Power Search - See more option to see detailed list of results for search term
• Dashboard - Programs and Endeavours widget
• Dashboard - Minor UI changes to class cards
• Dashboard - Overdue Activities Widget can now show and sort activities by Max Score
  
• Programs - New Programs and Endeavours feature located at in the global navigation menu
  
• Programs - Overview tab shows active endeavours for all programs
• ePortfolio - Cover image display update
• ePortfolio - Adding a new content block will add a block the same size as the last block
