The weather widget allows users to see the weather right now and the week's forecast at their current location, including information such as temperature ranges, wind speed and direction, and cloudiness. The widget will also alert users for hazards such as heat advisories in red text. Clicking on this text will lead the user to https://alerts.weather.gov/ for additional information.
In order to use the weather widget users will need to allow location access from the browser.
- To allow eKadence access to your current location on Google Chrome, click on the “lock” button in the URL bar of the page and make sure “Allow” is selected in the drop-down next to "Location." Then refresh/reload the page.
You will now be able to see information about the weather in your current location listed in the Weather section.
If you are using a Mac system, you must also ensure that your browser has been granted access to your location information through System Preferences.
- Locate the System Preferences option by pressing on the dropdop downmenu that appears when you click on the Apple logo button in your top left corner.
- Press the Security & Privacy option located at the end of the second row of icons. In the Privacy section, select Location Services.
- To make changes, click on the lock button in the bottom left corner. Input your computer’s admin password to authorize this decision.
- Finally, select the checkbox next to your browser to allow location information to be shared. (i.e. Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge)
- Click on the lock button in the bottom left corner again to prevent any further changes from being made.
Once both you have authorized your browser access to your location through System Preferences and through the browser itself, the Weather Widget will be populated with information about the weather at your current location.
